Patient Center

Patient Policies

At the Smile Center Orlando, we all have the same purpose—and that purpose is to get sick people well and to prevent the well from getting sick. Each of us has a personal, professional and ethical responsibility to care for your health to the best of my ability. Missed appointments and failure to comply with recommended treatment schedules and/or procedures prevent us from achieving our goal of optimum health for you. If you cannot keep your appointments and adhere to our treatment recommendations, we will not be able to continue treating you in good conscience.

Treatment recommendations are based on your health, not your insurance coverage, or lack thereof. If you have insurance, it is YOUR responsibility to be aware of what your benefits are. Remember, insurance companies are not concerned about your health or wellbeing—we are. As always, we will provide you with an estimate of benefits to the best of our ability, however, you are fully responsible for any treatment performed. Your benefits are a contract between you and your insurance company. We cannot and will not be responsible for what your insurance will or will not cover.

Failure to remit payment will result in assessment of the maximum allowable interest rate/fees allowed by the State of Florida and the customer being responsible for all collection fees.

Appointment Confirmation:

We utilize new technology for confirming appointments including email, text, and voice calls. You have the options to choose all three or customize what works best for you.

Email and Texts:

Confirmations are sent one week out. Emails will have a green box containing the message “confirm now”. A text will have the message to reply with a Yes or No. Two days before your appointment a reminder message will be sent that does not require action. Emails and Texts will not be sent on Sundays and not before 9am. You can opt into or decline receiving specials and notices using this system as well.

Automated Voice:

Calls are made two days prior to your appointment and a prompt will allow for confirmation. If appointments are not confirmed one day prior to your appointment, you will receive a personal call from one of our team members.

Brush Before Appointment:

Cleanliness and infection control are of the utmost importance. We have the latest sterilization technology and disinfect each treatment room after every patient. This is another important reason we demand timeliness of ourselves and you. We request you brush your teeth prior to arrival or being seated in a treatment room. Toothbrushes, paste, mouth rinse and floss will be provided for you if needed.

No-Shows/ Cancellations:

No-shows and same day cancellations are NOT acceptable. To keep our fees down and to better serve you, since we do not double book our appointments, should you be more than 10 minutes late for your appointment or miss your dental or orthodontic appointment for ANY reason, there will be a $50 fee added to your account.

To avoid incurring this charge, you MUST speak with a staff member 24 hours in advance of your appointment OR contact the office via voice mail OR email us at, prior to the day of your appointment. This will allow us time to call those patients who are in need of coming in immediately. 3710 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, Florida 32792 | 407-678-8848 |

Our patients’ oral health is our greatest concern, so this fee will not prevent you from booking a future appointment. However, this fee will need to be paid upon arrival, before seeing the doctor or hygienist for your next scheduled appointment. Since our greatest concern is you, we think you will agree these fees are fair.

Late Policy:

Timeliness is required. We will see you on time and get you out on time unless there is an emergency. We request you be on time for your visits. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may have to reschedule your appointment and be charged the $25 same day cancellation fee.

Missed Appointments:

If you miss an appointment, you must make it up. It is critical to your health to do so to avoid setbacks in the care and maintenance of your teeth and gums.
